Leake had the opportunity to clear some of the cobwebs out with two games against Burton and Ilkeston.  They gave a good account of themselves in the first game against a mixture of Burton first and seconds but their inexperience showed as they conceded three tries.  There was a fine debut from Sadiq and it was good to see Jack Astbury and Rob Mills back in action after a long period of inactivity.  The second game was against Ilkeston firsts which was a bit of a mis-match as we were supposed to be playing their seconds.  Everyone put in a lot of effort and can feel satisfied with their performances.  The highlight of the game was when Coops took out Chucker with a crunching tackle!  It is a shame that vice captain Hurst seems to be following the Bishton method of dieting and fitness or is he planning to give some of his bulk to Rob Mills?Next week we continue our warm up efforts with a game at Newark so we hope to see you all then.
